Our standard Mugi metal launch hook is currently made from a Rexel 50mm Giant Paper Clip, plain ended. Weighing under a gram this is reworked with a small pair of pliers; a photo forming sequence can be seen above. Latest Rexel clips are cheaply plated and leave sharp shards when refolded so great care is now needed. Whitecroft brand are far superior and heartily recommended. But there is an alternative. A more stylish hook, though more obvious in appearance, can be installed under the compact Mugi Evo model. They may fit well under your other aircraft too. Shown above is a collection of our remaining plastic hooks. All are surplus to our needs now and selling at cost or less. After four years of searching the good news is that we have now found and traced an ideal, elegant, hard white plastic glossy, compact hook. The bad news is we are required to purchase a 10,000 minimum quantity! Hopes dashed finally..another doomed island economy, but in the far east, called Taiwan. That great product is shown on the far right in the picture and definitely not for sale. Other are, from left to right:
- 'TIGER' white hard plastic with streamlined point, 3g weight.37 x 30 x 18mm high having radius corners. Bit grubby and has unknown sole plate glue.
- Unknown rectangular white plastic hook with slight centre line mould seam. 35 x 20 x 14 high with almost parallel hook line.Sole plate self adhesive fixer included. 3g
- 'Wilka' brand small oval hook 33 x 28 x 19mm high. Very elegant, hard shiny white plastic, parallel hook and about 3g
- 'Metaltex' Lilliput slimmer type in hard white plastic, all the way from France where they are called Crochets adhesifs. 43 x 24 x 21mm almost. Self adhesive pad underneath. 3g
