Winter nights and wet ones are dominating, it being generally very wet and gloomy (in the UK). However to fly after 17.00 hours is always tricky.....
Unless of course you fit your Evo with one of our LED lighting kits! Kitted up by our resident radio ham and electronic guru G4LED whose models were lit up in the dark ages; well the1960s anyhow. He flew single channel with germanium transistor flip-flop overdriven torch bulbs before the LED was invented (almost).
Simple construction - no soldering required, effective illumination
Our lightweight (10g) improved LED lighting kit contains carefully chosen extremely bright Light Emitting Diodes and gives you all the components to create your own exciting night time glow schemes and then change them in a few minutes for a different colour set.
The lighting kit features the same unique solderless construction technique as found in the Mugi Evo pages of this site. The hard work is done for you as we have pre-modified the screw terminal block and chosen the optimum components for you. All you need to do is quickly construct the lighting block with your chosen colours, and then place inside your translucent Evo to create a truly glow in the dark aircraft. Current draw from two LEDs as pictured using the supplied resistors at 4.8V is only ~40mA.
Kit contents:
- Ten (yes, 10) ultra-bright 5mm LEDs in the following colours:
- One Red LED (14,000mcd brightness)
- One Orange LED (10,000mcd brightness)
- One Green LED (10,000mcd brightness)
- One Blue LED (7,200mcd brightness)
- One White LED (12,000mcd brightness)
- One Warm White LED (10,000mcd brightness)
- One Yellow (amber) LED (10,000mcd brightness)
- One Pink LED (2000mcd brightness)
- One Rainbow (auto slow changing colours) LED
- One UltraViolet (blacklight mauve) LED
- LEDs are clear lens type, except orange clear on the Warm White. However we've added a dab of colour to the clear base of the others so you can distinguish between them. Every individual LED and resistor is bench tested by us during the pack assembly.
- Sorry but we consider that no true turquoise is yet available at a sensible price and colour! But watch this space as technology marches onward.
- Twelve (12) resistors for operation of the LEDs at 4.8V receiver spare channel output.
- Pre-modified screw terminal circuit 'chocolate block' .
- 300mm long Futaba-style plug power lead for receiver spare channel.
- 20mm self adhesive Velcro for mounting in the Evo.
- Simple to follow illustrated instructions including full LED specs and circuit schematic. When we seal up the kit package, the inventory aligns with the components to aid identification.

Yes they will work with a translucent Tea Racer! Even other models. Many customers now hard wire their models and use the Kit components.
