radiated on APRS network, 144.800 MHz narrowband, F3D mode.
Location is amateur radio station G4LED sited on Holmfirth Hill.
To the borders of Sycamore/Muslin Hall. Close to Holmfirth High
School campus; 100 metres from the school's old Stevenson (louvred
white box) screen site. All instruments to Met Office standards &
recommended sitings; mast mounted eight metres above the garden.
503ft msl (Newlyn datum). Note that trees and roof vortices
attenuate/affect wind values, like many weather stations. CloudCam
ex-PlayStation2 fixed lens camera. Shows visibility, cloud type,
ENE facing. In dark it shows the unwanted, increasing, thoughtless
Holme Valley light pollution. IR detection in place of lighting is
far superior. All adds to global heating/upsets wildlife behaviour.
Until four years ago our delightful valley aspect was unspoilt.
Is your lighting visible from afar? Indeed, is mine excessive? I
like to think my night sky impact is tiny. I'm a keen astronomer-
various binoculars and a decent Dob mount Newtonian reflector.
