Automatic 24/7 operation using 'Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus' weather equipment. Details are also transmitted for all to receive, licence free, via the the national APRS radio network on 144.800 MHz (two metre ham allocation) in narrow band, Frequency Modulation, F3D mode. Location is the QTH of amateur radio station G4LED sited on the old Holmfirth Hill; right on the borders of Sycamore and Muslin Hall; almost next door to the Holmfirth High School campus. All instruments are to Met Office standards and to their recommended sitings; mast mounted eight metres above the garden ground level which is 503 feet above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). Like most weather stations, wind values are attenuated and affected due to many nearby trees, also a large house directly to the south west of here. The readings are lower than actual velocities. Skycam auto iris Playstation2 fixed lens camera, shows cloud type; night hours, shows increasing levels of valley light pollution.

Current data update is every five minutes to keep the server load at a sensible level. The historic values (soon again when I sort out the software 5.8 version!) are shown for their interest. I do hope you like the site and find it useful. More information and development is planned but not actual forecasts; you must interpret the data! Apologies for some poor Wx presentation, glitches have been caused by irregular thermal overload of the cpu chip and software clashing in auto updates. High time to upgrade the station computer which is struggling now.
